Hello, Troop 36 Scout, Parents, and Leaders…   TONIGHT’S MEETING! We will have a couple of guest speakers Tonight. This is in preparation for the Wilderness Survival Merit badge weekend. See everyone Tonight. FEBRUARY CAMPING TRIP! We had 18 boys attend the Elite Climbing outing. Everyone had a great time. They learned how to traverse and boulder climb on the walls. Thanks to Mr. Fluharty, Mr. Hughes and Mr. Holroyd for being chaperones and the extra blisters they got their hands during belaying. KLONDIKE DERBY INFORMATION! We will meet at the church at 7:15 am and plan to depart at 7:30 am for the Klondike derby on February 27th at Pine Hill Scout Reservation. I still need adults to drive and help out during the event. We have filled two patrols, but there is room for more scouts. There will be many events to include fire building, hatchet throwing, log sawing, crate building, can crushing and knot tying. We also need some Adults to help out at the can crushing station. Get with Mr. Renzulli to see what needs to be done. I have attached the permission slip. Each scout needs to bring the following
  1. Rain Gear (Large Trash Bag may be used)
  2. Reusable cup (NO DISPOSABLE CUPS) and Spoons
 
  1. Extra Clothing for each scout to ensure every member of the patrol remains warm and dry to complete the day’s events. This should include extra socks and gloves.
 
  1. Scout Neckerchief or Bandana for each patrol member to serve as a blindfold
 
  1. Totin’ Chip
  Patrol needs to bring.  
  1. Patrol Flag
 
  1. Boy Scout Handbook
 
  1. Patrol Leaders Armband
 
  1. Record of pace measurement for each Scout. (maybe accomplished at Klondike)
 
  1. A way to protect an egg from breaking.
 
  1. 1 can of soup for every two boys in the patrol. Soup must be tomato, vegetable type or chicken stock based.
MARCH CAMPING TRIP! Yes, we are going to be busy! Back by popular demand, we will be having a Wilderness survival weekend. Some survival experts from McGuire AFB will teach the class. Dates of the trip are March 4 – 6 at Camp Dix. We will start sign-ups this week and I have attached the permission slip.
